CHRISTINA'S TEACHING & PHILOSOPHY
"The infinite potential of discovery is what I love most about being a musician - as in life the learning never stops and that’s what makes it so exciting! I am so grateful to all my wonderful teachers - including Joanna MacGregor whose expertise from my time at the Royal Academy of Music still inspires me today.
To me, teaching is understanding an idea so clearly that you can translate it to anyone. A teacher also listens and asks great questions. I aim to create a teacher in all my pupils whatever their age and whatever their level - even after just one lesson! This way, they learn to listen and ask themselves thoughtful questions which makes it so much more fun and provides them with the ability & curiosity to keep growing independently.
To become a master is just an extension of this. A master combines absolute control with flexibility to be inspired and creative in the moment. It's all about having fun and being playful at whatever level you are at in order to develop" - Christina McMaster
"The more I learn, the more I love sharing it with others. This is why I am super excited to launch McMasterclass Online - the 10 week one to one online piano course with me! What I think is amazing today is how we have unlimited means of communication via technology, which allow us to connect with each other anywhere in the world. I love this so much. Connection and a strong sense of community is so important for me in music, performance and everyday life. I am thrilled to be able to give lessons via skype and excited to build an international community of musicians/McMaestros!" Christina McMaster
