Inner Temple_4.jpg

An original electro acoustic collaboration between pianist Christina McMaster and wellness music pioneer and ambient composer Tom Middleton, that will be experienced via an altered perspective – lying down for conscious listening.

The body is often referred to as a temple – the nutrition, words, sounds, environment and vibrations we allow into the body impact our physical and spiritual wellness.

The experience is in reverence of 12th Century Priestess – Hildegard Von Bingen and her immense creativity, sonic visions, words, art works, eco activism and use of plant and sound medicine. Her vision and painting ‘The Universe’ is the source of inspiration for this performance – representing the four elements – wind, fire, air, water and multiple layers of meaning beyond these.

Expect to experience sound in new dimensions with real time transformations across multiple modes via immersive surround speakers to fully envelop you as Tom leverages the d&b Soundscape system, whilst sculpting the acoustic piano to guide you within to your personal Inner Temple of sound.

This project is supported by Help Musicians UK.

Lie down and Listen

Christina founded Lie down and Listen - a meditation, sound healingand lying down concert experience. It began through a chance meeting with Professor Sir John Strang and and a scientific experiment at KCL to re create the benefits of a hallucinogenic trip - changes in perception of time and enhanced creativity. Since then it's evolved , incorporating traditional sound healing in a beautiful deep listening experience.
