Christina McMaster is a pianist, collaborator and wellbeing advocate. She has performed nationally and internationally with broadcasts and live performances on BBC Radio 3.  She studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Joanna MacGregor where she learnt and cultivated the art of creative programming. Christina is a truly creative spirit, collaborating with a whole host of artists and industries from folk musicians, such as Peggy Seeger, to scientists at King's College London and visual artists.


Christina is passionate about wellness and the power of music to enhance wellbeing of audiences. In 2018, she founded Lie down + Listen - a meditation and lying down concert experience bringing wellbeing and a positive change of perspective to 'lie down and listeners'. The next online lying down concert will take place on zoom and feature piano music by Debussy inspired by nature.

To honour World Meditation Day (21 May) this special concert opens with a guided meditation with leading London-based yoga teacher Tania Brown to help you tune into an immersive sequence by pianist Christina McMaster and violinist Lana Trotovšek.

Featuring music by Philip Glass, Terry Riley, Meredith Monk, Erik Satie, Arvo Pärt, John Cage & Olivier Messiaen.


April 2021

Christina is releasing new digital recordings of Debussy's Preludes BK1. The next track 'The Girl with the Flaxen Hair' is out 23 April on all digital platforms: Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music etc. Follow Christina to be notified of the upcoming Debussy releases.


Christina was fortunate to spend many of her summer months in Aix-en-Provence studying piano with Bernard Flavigny who has a direct lineage to Debussy via his teachers Walter Gieseking and Alfred Cortot.

A lot of Book 1 Preludes are influenced by nature’s elements, water, wind as well as seasons and times - crepuscular moments in les sons et les parfum tournent dans l’air du soir’ the remembrance of summer love in ‘la file aux cheveaux de lin  which is out Friday 23 April.
